International terminal T1 · P7 car park

International parking beside T1

T1 is where Sydney's international flights leave from, and P7 is the car park that sits with it. Here is how the options differ if you are flying out, or just meeting someone who is arriving.

Airport parking at Sydney Airport, explained by terminal.

P7 sits beside the international terminal — you keep your keys and walk in.

P7, the main international car park

P7 is the multi-storey car park for T1. It is self-park, which means you keep your keys and walk to the terminal from your bay.

The car park is covered except for the rooftop level, so lower levels suit anyone leaving a car through summer. For sydney airport parking at the international side, this is the default choice when you want to park close and stay in control of your own timing.

  • Self-park throughout — no handover, no shuttle to catch.
  • Undercover levels for longer stays, rooftop open to the sky.
  • Short walk to departures with luggage, step-free lift access.

Inside P7 · Level 1

The premium pre-booked tier

Inside P7 there is a premium pre-booked product on level 1. It is a reserved, more premium experience within the same car park rather than a separate building. You book it through the airport's online reservation flow.

If you want a bay closer to the lifts and a shorter walk with luggage, this is the tier to look at. It suits families with extra bags, late check-ins, and anyone who would rather pay a little more to cut the walk.

When premium makes sense

  • Heavy luggage or travelling with kids — fewer metres from bay to lift.

  • Peak holiday departures from T1 when P7 fills from the bottom up.

  • Short international hops where convenience matters more than the daily rate.

Public pick-up at T1

The international terminal has a dedicated public pick-up area for people collecting arriving passengers. It is free for up to 15 minutes once per calendar day, and it is designed for quick collections.

The catch is that your passenger needs to be ready. If they are still at baggage claim, wait elsewhere and drive in when they are kerbside.

Make the 15 minutes work

Ask your traveller to message you after clearing customs. Circle through the airport roads or wait at a nearby service area until they are standing outside, then pull into pick-up for a fast load and go.

If you need longer

Meeting a delayed flight or helping with lots of bags? Park in P7 and walk in instead. Paying for an hour in the car park is calmer than trying to stretch a quick-collection bay.

Pre-booking versus driving up

P7 spaces can be pre-booked or paid for on the day. Online reservations are subject to availability, and international departures cluster around peak holiday periods when parking sydney airport demand tightens up.

How pre-booking works

Pre-book online

Pre-booking is the way to lock in a product and rate rather than hoping for a space at the barrier. You choose P7 or the Level 1 premium tier for your exact dates, keep the confirmation on your phone, and drive straight to your booked area.

Drive up on the day

Drive-up parking is available and suits off-peak midweek flights. In school holidays and around popular overnight departure banks, bays go first on the lower levels. If you drive up then, allow extra time to climb to the roof.

Compare the total

Online prices move with demand, so the gap between booked and drive-up rates changes by week. For airport parking around long weekends, booking ahead usually settles both price and peace of mind.

Trip length

Trip length and the international choice

For a short international hop, P7 is hard to beat on convenience. Walk off the plane, walk to the car, and you are on Marsh Street in minutes.

For a month-long trip, the daily rate adds up and a long-stay option with a shuttle can be worth the extra step. Compare the total across your full dates, not a single day, and factor in whether you want the car undercover the whole time.

Late return

Arriving back late at night

Late arrivals are where pre-booking earns its keep. The car park is staffed and open around the clock, but the walk back to a distant bay at 1am is easier when you know which level you booked.

Note your level and bay zone before you fly, and keep the booking confirmation on your phone. A photo of the bay marker saves a tired search when the deck looks different at night.

Accessibility and special vehicles

Accessible bays are available for permit holders at the international car park. Motorcycle parking is a separate product from the standard car bays, so riders should check the dedicated page. If you are unsure which product fits your vehicle, sort it out before you travel rather than at the entry barrier.

Permit holders

Use marked accessible bays near lifts. Bring the permit and display it as signed — staff check the deck regularly.

Motorcycles

Bikes use a separate motorcycle product, not a standard car bay. Confirm access and pricing for two wheels before you ride in.

Oversize vehicles

High-roof vans and cars with roof boxes should check height clearances for P7. If in doubt, contact the team at Level 2, 10 Arrivals Court before you book.
